My arrival was on the 6th of August at Helsinki Airport. To my host family, I arrived around 1 AM the next day.
For breakfast, I had typical Finnish round bread - Ruisleipä. The taste of it is dainty. It reminds me of the dark bread that we have in the Czech Republic.
For lunch, we had chicken, pasta and vegetables.
For dinner, my host family prepared for me a perch with potatoes. Usually, they eat small fishes in sauce with potatoes. They have a fireplace outside made of bricks in my host family. The Perch has been prepared there. The main point of the fireplace is that you use smoke from the wood under the meal. The meal (a Perch this time) is in a metal box above the fire. After dinner, we had cinnamon rolls.
Quite surprising for me was that in Finland is typical to have a snack after dinner at night. Sometimes it can be around 9 PM. Also, a typical drink is milk,
